Coaching & What to Expect

What exactly is life coaching?

Think of me as your personal trainer for life. You can achieve a great deal on your own, but you achieve so much more with focused support. Coaching is about looking forward—we don’t dig up the past, we lay new pipes! We figure out what you want, locate the blocks in your way, and build a plan to get you there.

What happens during our first session?

Our first consultation call consists of a quick life intake, a discussion of what you’d like to accomplish, and a plan. We’ll talk timelines, costs, and make sure we vibe. Regardless of whether we work together or not, you will leave with a better understanding of your next steps. Good plans are the best!

How long are typical coaching appointments?

Once we officially start, we will meet once a week over Video Conferencing. Those sessions are 45–60 minutes of focused, one-on-one time where you get my full attention.

Why one-on-one coaching instead of a group?

In my experience, one-on-one is the most effective way to effect real change. I’ve done groups and memberships, but let’s be honest: in a group, it’s easy to lurk, hide, and hold back. In our 1-on-1 sessions, there is nowhere to hide. We discuss your goals, implement your plan, and I hold you accountable. It multiplies the results.

Is This Right For Me?

What are the chances that I will get results?

You are always in control of your results. But let me ask you: have you ever tried doing it with a coach? This isn’t a one-person show; it’s a team effort. When you aren’t at your best, it’s completely different to partner with someone who will fight for your goals! As long as you are committed to change, you WILL get the results you desire.

Why not just take action on my own?

You are smart and capable enough to make a difference on your own—absolutely. But making a change alone isn’t easy, and frankly, it isn’t necessary. Your brain naturally resists hard work and change; it will give you a laundry list of reasons why you shouldn’t try. Having me on your team means you have a straight talker keeping you grounded and pushing you forward.

What if I find it hard to spend cash on myself this way?

I hear you; hesitancy isn’t surprising. But let’s keep it 100%: it is totally worth it to invest in yourself! You deserve it. People spend huge amounts on their careers and continuing education. Investing in your emotional and mental well-being? That’s the foundation of everything else. Plus, your family and friends will definitely benefit from the growth and changes you experience.

What happens if coaching doesn’t help me?

If we find that my coaching style isn’t the right fit for the specific blocks you are facing, I will let you know. The stage of life is big enough for everyone to shine, and my goal is your success even if that means pointing you toward a different resource or professional to get you what you need.

Time, Money & Sessions

How long will we be working together?

Depending on the work we do, we usually work together for no more than six months. One-off sessions are possible in rare cases, but real, sustainable change usually takes a committed few months of weekly work.

What are your payment options, and do you offer payment plans?

We will discuss the costs during your free consultation, as they can vary depending on your specific situation and goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

I respect your time, and I ask that you respect mine. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling so we can keep the momentum going and allow space for others who might need a session.

Other Common Questions

How will I feel after starting coaching?

You will feel better, both mentally and emotionally. Going after what you want gives you a huge boost in confidence. You’ll experience less of that emotional roller coaster and fewer triggers. My clients often tell me they feel less restricted, more free, and finally in control of their lives. A life you CHOOSE is always better than a default life!

Can I combine coaching with therapy?

Yes! Coaching and therapy are different tools. Therapy often deals with healing past trauma, while coaching is focused on action, the present, and building the future. They can work beautifully side-by-side.

Do you only work with people in Cape Town?

Not at all! While I reside in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, all of our coaching sessions happen via Zoom. As long as we can figure out the time zones, we can work together from anywhere in the world.
